SALISBURY, MD---Dr. Sylvia Stant Bradley dedicated her life to historic stories of Salisbury University and the Delmarva Peninsula.

From her early days as a student at what was then Salisbury State Teachers College to her long career as a history professor and researcher, Bradley developed a deep commitment to ensuring the region’s history would not be forgotten.

That legacy will continue for generations through her newly endowed Sylvia Bradley Fund for Eastern Shore Culture at SU.

Managed by the 成人抖阴Foundation, Inc., the fund will provide ongoing programmatic support to SU’s Edward H. Nabb Research Center for Delmarva History and Culture and related initiatives across campus. Its purpose is to advance research, education, preservation and public display of the history and culture of Maryland, Delaware, and Virginia’s Eastern Shore.

In honor of her years of dedication to 成人抖阴and Delmarva history, the Nabb Center’s local archivist office will be dedicated to Bradley during a ceremony 3 p.m. Monday, April 13.

Funding priorities will be determined by the Nabb Center’s director, with flexibility to address the center’s most pressing needs. Particular emphasis will be placed on expanding collections, supporting exhibits, and enhancing educational programming that highlight the region’s cultural heritage.

A Wicomico County native, Bradley taught history at 成人抖阴for more than three decades, co-founding the Delmarva Historical Society, now the Nabb Center, in 1982. She also authored the institution’s first comprehensive history, Salisbury: From Normal School to University, and published several works documenting the Delmarva region.

Her impact continues through her extensive archival contributions housed at the Nabb Center, including research materials, institutional records, and oral histories that chronicle the University’s development.

The creation of the Sylvia Bradley Fund ensures that her lifelong commitment to preserving Delmarva’s history will endure, strengthening Salisbury University’s role as a steward of the region’s cultural heritage.
